Well the world has finally witnessed what I believed in years ago...Jermey Lin! I have been a Lin fan from days when I kept tabs on him at Harvard University, where he wasn't recruited by any big D1 schools, so he signed with an academic scholarship instead. Basically building the program from the ground up, Jermey Lin made it the school that it is to day (ranked 23rd in the nation) and definitely left his mark!
When he went undrafted in the NBA, I followed him through his journey with Dallas in the summer league where he showed that he belonged in the NBA and eventually signed with his home team the Golden State Warriors. I bought his jersey online ASAP once the news spread.
Jermey Lin is just a great story of what hard work can do in the world today. If you work hard good things will happen. Lin had so many doors closed on him, but he put so much effort into becoming a great basketball player and person he opened a lot more doors. Lin is humble and extremely greatful for everything he has in his life, and we should all be thankful for the life we have and keep striving for our goals and dreams.

Royal Canoe, one of Canada's up and coming bands is hard at work in the studio putting together a brand new album. Releasing a EP in a couple of months is first on the checklist. Nice! A production had an opportunity to film these guys during their craft and is putting together a mini series documenting the process they've gone through to making their brand of music.

Royal Canoe is teaming up with Saint Kris and Bobby Desjarlais for an album fundraiser show on December 29th at The Pyramid in downtown Winnipeg. A Preview clip of what to expect is above and blow is the first episode of the Royal Canoe Studio series. ASU Basketball "James Harden Beard Night"

Ok, so I’ve golfed a bit in the last couple of days, shot some rough rounds 90, 89, & 103. All that is a side note to my amazing ASU basketball game experience. I did the typical pre game routine, show up early tour around and head down to courtside to watch warm ups. I relocated to my seat which was right by the tunnel the teams come out from. I had received an email from ASU athletics before I left informing me that the night would be “James Harden Beard Night”. At the game I was rocking my OKC #13 Harden jersey in hopes that he might be in attendance and just to look fly lol.

The game is about to start and I see an assistant coach talking to a security guard and mouthed “james harden” and pointed down the tunnel. I jumped out of my seat looked over and sure enough the bearded man was walking towards the court. I grab my pen and head straight for him. Like a the pumped up basketball fan that I am, I start yelling ‘James! James!’ He looks over at me and I ask him to sign my jersey. I’m the only person in the arena rocking his OKC jersey, so he of course says “yah!”. It was unfortunate that the highlight of my night happened before the game even started but It was AWESOME!.

After getting settled in yesterday, I woke up bright and early (6:am) to tackle the first course of the trip...The Phoenician at Scottsdale, Phoenix. A very mature course built on a luxurious resort was filled with wonderful scenery that sun valley has to offer. Playing from the back tees with the big boys I shot a whooping 90! I put together a nice 43 on the front nine, but had some trouble off the tee in the back nine and penciled in a 47. A very narrow course with long par 3’s made for some difficulties with a wild ace like me on the tee. Well this past weekend was the first time I attended the Bison Homecoming Football game as a alumni and not a student. This time was also a little differnt because I was watching majority of the game behind a camera. Cam and I (Nice! Productions) were starting to film peice on Spirit Cup a student life lead event through out all Bison Sports games and an all-access look at the Football team. The game was amazing and the Bison turned it on in the second half to get the W. I took a couple pictures of my boys that wear the Brown and Gold this season. enjoi.

Summer where did you go?

August 10th? really? Feels like summer just started but with a blink of an eye boom! we only have a couple more weeks to enjoy the rays and nice weather. My summer being spent out at camp has been quite a long task, with the camp being extended an extra week. The camp has been great but being stuck in a gym in the middle of no where can be draining after a month.

I am really looking forward to spending the rest of summer hanging out with friends, golfing and just enjoying what summer has to offer. This is just a random post but i know a couple of other individuals that may feel the same way haha.

Family Vacation

Well everybody I made it. A couple of delays and a cancelled flight couldn't hold me back from making it back to the homeland aka Hong Kong. The following day was straight to business and one of the reasons I came down here, had to get my Hong Kong citizenship. We first went down to get some paperwork done so I could get into a restricted area that my parents were staying, that went smooth. I then went down to immigration to apply for my citizenship. After some paperwork, finger printing and a photo...boom! complete, the offical card will be ready in a couple of weeks but until then I received a temporary paper version.
After all the offical stuff, my dad took me down to some of the street markets to shop and tour around. I picked up some goodies and saw a lot of cheap eletronics that were fake. I am pretty sure iPhones for $40 sold on the street won't be lasting to long haha, even though I was very temped to give them a shot my father told me other wise haha. Well thats all I have for now... enjoi

My Back Hurts

Doing nothing is really hard and boring.... I say this because i recently got knee surgury and i'm currently laying around doing nothing. It's been a long couple of days of icing and elevating my leg, which has resulted in lower back pain. My leg is gross and massive but i'm on the road to recovery. There are some pros to this situation though:

1. Playoffs - i've been watching all the playoff games in the NBA and NHL

2. Nurse - I have my bro and his girlfriend (who is a nurse) to look after me, move me around and get me stuff :)

3. FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS - I've been able to purchase season 1 and 2 and have my own personal FNL marathons.

So, if your home alone and want to do something, or wanna catch some playoff hockey or basketball just give me a ring because you'll know where i'll be. enjoi

All done my friends! It's officially over; I am done my education program as of yesterday! My last day of student teaching was a sad one because it is always tough to say goodbye and to leave such an amazing situation. My teaching block was amazing, I had such supportive teachers, students that were really nice and fun, an over all great school.

This is crazy…. I remember writing my blog post about starting my education program and "two more years" has finally come to an end. The time flew by and I am no longer a "student', but someone looking for a job haha. The feelings of excitement, nervousness and uncertainty are all combined right now during this time. I know the right job and opportunity will arise, just have to wait my turn.

I just want to thank all my friends, family and people that supported me through my years in post secondary education. I don't think I could've gotten my degrees with out having the supports and outlets from all of you, so THANK YOU.

With only two weeks left being in classes in the Faculity of Education, times are tough. You got assignment after assignment all due roughly at the same time. With my lack of motivation to pursue finishing these assignments, I figure out other things to do. Watch movies, hang out with friends, surf the net, shop, blog, etc... today with one of my major assignments due the next day, I decided to hit up the Golf Dome with J.Loft! After the Sungknows show back in early January, I got some great feedback from a large amount of the people in attendance that evening. I have been waiting for this day for quite some time, the day Theo Fleury showed up at Celebration week at the University of Manitoba to speak about this life story. A story about being on top in the NHL and being at rock bottom; to only battle back and mount a come back that nobody was expecting.
He has since retired from NHL and wrote about about his personal journey he called life. Theo spoke about everything and it was quite inspirational to see a man battle back from everything he has gone through. Below are a couple interviews to get a better understand of who Theo Fleury is, but you should already know : )

SungKnows Presents: Saint Kris & Royal Canoe

Well the night has come and gone, January 8^th was a date that I will never forget. That evening I got to cross something off my bucket list; to host an amazing party! With the support from the Sungknows Crew I got to showcase some amazing Winnipeg talent! Royal Canoe and Saint Kris got to perform in front of a sold out crowd at LoPub. Both these artists deserved everything they got that night; the audience was dancing, singing along and loving every minute both acts were on stage.

Royal Canoe started the night off with a great set of their own material from Co-op Mode and new stuff from most recent online EP release. They then followed the set with what they call “club hits” that really got the party bumping. Two of my favorite classics they played were “Pony by Genuine” and “No Diggity by Black Street”. These classics really got LoPub dancing and singing along like they were all back in 1998.

This was followed by the man of the hour Saint Kris, who was releasing his 2^nd mixtape “ExtraOrdinary” that evening. The crowd was chanting his name before and after his set, they couldn’t get enough of Saint Kris. This being his first officia Winnipeg performance really was a special day in his career. He let the whole crowd know the story of Saint Kris by the end of the night. Here is the encore acappella verse he spit once the “one more song!” yelling started. Enjoi

I just want to say thank you to everybody that showed up that night to support Sungknows, Royal Canoe, and Saint Kris. It was really amazing to see everybody at LoPub, the room was filled with some amazing people and that’s the only way I would have it. Royal Canoe and Saint Kris deserve the best, their music needs to be heard and the atmosphere that night was everything the band and I could have asked for! Thank you all for everything!

The 23rd aka The Christmas Eve Eve Party! The 6th annual traditional partying going down in Steiner is something that I look forward to and a lot of others do too, every year. I really enjoy this gathering because is a reunion of sorts and i get to hang out and catch up with friends that i normally don't see to often these days.
The last couple of years i've been dragging Jen with me to this event, I know for a fact that the first occasion she was a little hesitant to join but now she is a huge fan of this annual event. So this year the group that joined us for the 23rd was the largest it has been yet! The S Club 7 was created and was ready to take on the Edge in Steiner ha ha.
The SC7 was ready to take on the evening with full force and was ready for a blasty blast. With some new found confidence installed in each individual, we danced the night away and some of us got lucky winning big on the slot machines! ha ha
