So....Rudy Fernandez has been voted into the Sprite Slam Dunk Contest. No offense to him but he's got skills but the dunk contest seriously? i really don't think he will be entertaining us come all star weekend. Just look at the ad for it on nba.com, all the other guys are dunking and he's shooting a jump shot! ahah he's going to be in a lot of trouble.

Theo Fleury in Steinbach

Pulling up the TG Smith arena tonight, the parking lot filled, mix 96 playing their classics you knew something special was going down in Steinbach. Was it a Huskies Jr Game.. no! IT was an Allen Cup Exhibition game, the Hanover Carillon All Stars vs The Steinbach North Stars. This was not just no normal exhibition game, the North Stars had NHL legend and Olympic Gold Medalist THEO FLEURY! Thats right he's 40 year old body still could handle being the ice. You could tell he was not in his prime form but he still had skills. He end the game with 2 goals and 2 assist and still showed some of his Theo Fleury edge that he played with in the NHL. Late in the third period Fleury landed a pretty dirty elbow on my friend Matt Plett which was quite surprising because they were up 8 -2 at that point. Fleury ended the game in the penalty box and the game end with a North Star victory 8-2. All in all it was pretty fun to watch your child hood star play right before your eyes.
