Top 3 Records For Fall

John Mayer
BATTLE STUDIES
Before he recorded his fourth album, John Mayer built a dream studio in a Los Angeles suburb to escape the paparazzi and rediscover tranquility. He embraced his fresh state of mind so thoroughly, first single "Who Says" opens with the line "Who says I can't get stoned?" (He says the lyric isn't about weed, but being "in control of the pleasure in your life"). Mayer's influences on the LP include George Harrison and, many have surmised, his breakup with Jennifer Aniston, and he has said the record is just part of his evolution: "You don't follow [Continuum]. You step to the side and begin something completely new. This is the next step in the story of who I am

The Avett Brothers
I AND LOVE AND YOU

The North Carolina finger-pickers have arrived at a major-label thanks to Rick Rubin, who fell in love with their twangy harmonies and banjo-plucked acoustic grooves. On their latest record brothers Scott and Seth, along with bassist Bob Crawford, tackle love, heartbreak and the honest stories of their lives. "Folk music is just like early hip-hop," says Scott Avett. "You're singing about where you're from, the hardships and the good times."
Ben Gibbard and
Jay Farrar

ONE FAST MOVE OR I'M GONE: KEROUAC'S BIG SUR
"I'm very aware that I'm stepping out in a style I'm not known for," says Death Cab for Cutie's Ben Gibbard, discussing his collaboration with Son Volt's Jay Farrar on a song cycle based on Jack Kerouac's 1963 novel Big Sur. The folk-country material is a long way from Death Cab, but even farther from the jazz associated with Kerouac. "I still don't know what Kerouac would think about the steel guitar," admits Farrar

Honorable Mentions: Backstreet Boys, The Swell Season, OneRepublic, Clipse

My dream tour!!

Maestro Knows - Episode 9 (Nike Campus) from Maestro Knows on Vimeo.

Maestro hits up an amazing tour... if only this was me..enjoi

3 weeks in...

So if u didn't know I'm currently in the education program at the uofm. I have had a lot of friends that have gone through the program and they all have told me stuff. Let's just say they were not lying, everything they said is true. Some good and some bad ... But majority is on the bad side. Currently taking 4 classes and the the first week I was like these aren't that bad but now i can barely make it through them. I strongly dislike 2 of my courses and enjoy the other 2. I have two profs that just don't get us involved or smarter, they just lecture and we sit and listen. In one of my classes we've been watching the same video for the past 2 weeks and in the other one we've been learning the same thing from day one ...we are on week 3! Crazy i know and they call themselves teachers.
My other two classes are good though. The profs are dynamic and engaging. They get us involved and help prepare us for the real job as a teacher which is great. Just gotta stick this out for 2 years and I'm home free.

"40 nuggets!!!"

The Berrics (theberrics.com), is one of my favorite websites to visit, i find all their video segments pretty entertaining. This video is First Try Fridays, where they are challenged to do a trick fresh out of the car.  For any athlete thats difficult, thats like telling a basketball player to do a 360 slamma jamma with no warm up. In the vid Mike Mo is challenged by Koston to do a Hardflip down a set of stairs but Mo makes it interesting with a little wager..enjoi

Nike Zoom Kobe IV Round 2...

Just picked up a new pair of kicks, the Kobe IV "philly" edition. The colorway of the Philly edition was inspired by the team color of Philadelphia 76ers in Varsity Royal, red and white. 3M reflective material is featured on the toe box, tongue and ankle area. “23″ at the back heel is the jersey number of his father while the number on the insole, “8.23.78″, is the birthday of Kobe Bryant.

Greatest Collaborations Ever

One of my favorite artist is John Mayer and one of my favorite tv shows is Rob Dyrdek's Fantasy Factory. Recently John was a guest on the show to pull a TMz prank and Rob's family was not to thrilled of the celeb news. So, to make up for this John decides to write a song and Rob dedicates it to his mom and family. Check out this ep at mtv.ca, here is a short clip..enjoi

Royal Canoe

This past weekend I attended a show by local artist Royal Canoe. This band is a side project from Matt Peters of The Waking Eyes. I first heard about this band from my main men Bucky & Matt who are playing in the band for their first performance ever. The show was amazing and the sound was differnt but fun! They did some exciting new dance beats with some creative lyrics. Check them out at:

The Outburst!

Not sure if everybody has noticed but there has been a little thing on tv called the US Open. This is one of the most exciting tennis majors because of the location (new york) and the crazy fans it brings, just the other day when Nadel won his match to go tot he semi's a fan ran out of the stands and wanted to hug him and yelled "i love you" and nadel was all for it. Something even more intense happend when Serena Williams told a line judge that she would shove this tennis ball some where. Check out this video of the intense outburst by a very scray Serena. enjoi
