What have I been doing with my time?
- Starts here with my buddy Patrick. I have been student teaching for the past couple of weeks and during my prep time at home, Patrick chill's around while I do work.
- I have been working on a lot of projects with Cam and Nice! Productions. We have been doing videos and photographer for some very talented people, who I my friends. This might be considered different for my blog, but I recently celebrated my 26th birthday. I just wanted to say thank you to all my amazing friends and family that are in my life and have impacted me in some shape or form. You may not know it but you all have; I am definitely a better person for knowing all of you and so proud to call u my friend.
A lot of you know that I am a social kinda a kid (ha ha 26 and i'm a kid still) and always want to have a good time and connect with people. I'm so social that I should be writing a paper right now but I felt inspired to say thank you on here.
I have been quite busy with this wonderful adventure that I have been on since school started and the opportunity to coach at an elite level is indescribable. I do not regret any of this but one thing, not celebrating my birthday the right way, the way you all deserve, because you amazing people need to be in the same room together to meet one another.
This opportunity is about to happen, it has always been my goal (in my bucket list) to host an amazing birthday party to show case some of my very talented friends and dance the night away with u all. So I am saying this will full confidence that there will be a party, not just any party, but a SUNGKNOWS Concert going down early December! Stay posted, info could drop sooner then you think ;)
A new sound, a new face, and artist. Someone that everybody can relate too. Sit back and enjoi the first trailer to the debut of Saint Kris 2nd Mixtape "Extra Ordinary Kris." I strongly recommend you read the write up below to gain the full experience of this music video. enjoi
Extra Ordinary is the title of Saint Kris’ 2nd mixtape, which is to be released in December of 2010. Saint Kris has teamed with Sungnation and Nice! Productions in hopes of displaying his true essence from both an audible and visual standpoint. A series of music videos will be released that will display the genuine nature of Saint Kris as the production team moves from the Music Video format to a firsthand behind the scenes look at the Extra Ordinary Kris. Sungnation and Nice! Productions accomplish this concept by breaking the illusion of film, by filming the filmer. This approach was used to communicate that Saint Kris understands who he is (a regular guy), and is not afraid to accept it. sincedayoneentertainment.bandcamp.com/track/cool-ya-off

First Jeremy Lin signs with Golden State and now this asian kid on UNC! Sick.. been looking online for his name but can't find it, from a source i've heard that he made it as a walk on! When can I get his jersey? ha ha. enjoi

It's an exciting opportunity for me to join over the summer and looking forward to this upcoming season. I put together this video so the public can meet this years 2010 - 2011 team! enjoi

I can remember this time last year getting advice from a close friend that went through the same education experience that I'm going through right now say "When it's tough times with Education just keep saying to yourself "two more years.. two years" and it worked, got through year 1 and now I can say "one more year.. one year" whenever it is rough in Ed. I did take a lot of summer classes to lighten up my load for the year so I hope that helps but you never know what profs are going to throw at you. ha ha. Well I'm sitting at UC right now with my Steeped Tea and Donut about to start year 2, lets do this!

This past weekend was an eventful one for golf fans in Winnipeg Mb, as the LPGA came to town. St. Charles Country Club was the host to the CN Canadian Women's Open and it as quite an entertaining week. Finally getting a chance to see this talent up close is amazing, they have so much talent and are all great athletes. One did stand above the rest this week though and that would be my girl Michele Wie. She has a lot of hype surrounding her ever since she started competing in pro events at a young age but officially join the LPGA last year. She been struggling but this week she put it all together and gained her second LPGA victory! I as fortunite enough to see her play in person, get her autograph and take a picture with her! Congrats on a well deserved and over due win. enjoi.
Jeremy Lin on the home page of NBA.com! Check out the new guard for the Golden State Warriors, as he shows you around NYC during his rookie transition program. Sick! enjoi
With my summer school being over I have more time to do my own thing ha ha.. I came across this sweet special on the Raptors, I know they might not have Bosh anymore but their still going to be one of my favorite teams to watch and cheer for! The 4 part special is an all access look at the Los Vegas Summer League, here is the first part and the link below if you wanna watch more. enjoi
Hello viewers.. thought I'd update everybody on what I have been doing for most of the summer. School ended in April but not for this home boy, I decided to take 3 classes over the summer to lighten up my load for my final year of my education degree. Finished two of them already and my last one is done on Monday... if I finish the Final Project in time (which i should be working on instead of writing this blog). For the past couple of summers I've been coaching JRB basketball and our first trip was in early July in Menomonee, Wisconsin. The girls didn't play to their best of ability but gave us an opportunity to see them in action and what we need to focus on for the remainder of the summer. After a late night drive home I made my way to Prov Sports Camps for the following week. Being a fellow camper and current staff member for the last couple of summers, I always look forward to hanging out with everybody and coaching. The basketball week was great, I ended up coaching the winning team of dribblefest. The league final came down to a last second play that result in a bank 3-pointer and storming of the court in celebration! What a way to end the week! After that I had a week of training the university athletes and then I was off to Nebraska for another JRB basketball trip. This was a great trip for a couple of reasons:
1. got a chance for my team to redeem themselves and improve on their last showing.
2. My good buddy Mitch "the Cat" join the program and came down to coach a team.
The trip was awesome, the drive was a little long but we had a blasty blast. Mitch made JRB history when his younger team play my team and had he said "the biggest upset ever!" which is was. It was a slow grind of a game and his team had an oppontuity at the end of the game to win and hit a running lay up to win the game. It was a well deserved when because Mitch got his team ready and hyped to play! They ended up winning second in the tournament and we placed third.
I am now currently waiting for a connection flight to Vancouver for my cousin Phil's wedding in Calgary. After being late for my morning flight cause my dad gave me the wrong information I am currently on route to my destination. Looking forward to seeing my family and also my good bud Jordan who moved out there. He is picking me up from the airport and taking for a night out on the town ha ha ha a bromance of you must say.
July 21, 2010 the Golden State Warriors signed asian american and NCAA standout Jeremy Lin to a contract! Lin who is 21 and had an amazing career at Harvard has something to prove to all the teams that didn't pick him on draft night. Jeremy had an amazing run at the NBA Summer League in Vegas and even showed his skills against some of the best.. cough.. "John Wall" cough.
Jeremy Lin jersey here i come! enjoi
Been working at Prov Sports Camp the last week, but been keeping up with the NBA summer league and seeing that the Raptors have been doing their thing! My bro showed me this video of a dunk off between Sonny, Demar, and Amir. Loser has to walk down Toronto in tights ha ha.. enjoi
NCAA standout Jeremy Lin goes undrafted but makes the Dallas Mavericks summer league team. A great size for a guard and knows the game really well. Would be a great back up for Kidd over Jose Juan Barea because of his size and skills. Check out some highlights below. enjoi
Congrats to my good friends Sherri and George Trinh on their new baby boy Cooper! and their new family. He was born at 2:30 am on July 2nd at 5 pounds 8 ounces. (just a little guy ha ha) Never held a baby that young before can you see the fear in my eyes? ha ha Congrats again you two, so happy for you! enjoi
I just completed my video and art class for Education and did my final project as a documentary on local standout band, The Liptonians. Bucky and Matt talk about their history, the new album and why they make music. I believe they are a great band and have loads of talent; from what i've heard of the new album it sounds great! I thought this would be a great way for them to spark peoples interest of them as a band and their new album. enjoi
Currently working on my last project for my Video Art, Culture, and Education course. I'm doing a documentary on local standout band The Liptonians and their new album they are currently working on. Stay tuned for something special. enjoi
I don't think I need to say much more...but I will. Everybody wanted a game 7 and you all got it, the outcome is exactly what I expected. Lake Show on top! Even if Kobe did not have his best performance his teammates stepped up and put together a total team effort. What a game and what a season for the champs! enjoi
With the current World Cup going on right now, UMBRO has released a web based "Crest Design" contest. Above is the one I designed. My main inspiration is from my MOBB crew and went with the classy Carolina blue base colour. Put the crown on top because we always try to be on top and the swords were added in the background because we battle every time we step on the floor. The diamond in the centre because like Jay-Z says "Diamonds are Forever" just like MOBB will be forever!
Go head and click here and design your own.
Today the World Cup starts, I'm not much of a soccer fan but if Steve Nash is reporting from it then I'll stay tuned and watch. ha ha. Glad to see that Mr. Nash is doing something productive with his time after the playoffs. enjoi
Game 3 tonight marks the game the "Lake Show" take back home court! Look at Kobe in this picture.. zero doubt he is going to show up in bean town and drop it like its hot. This is a big game for both teams, but whats on the line for the Lakers will bring the best out of them. Sit back and enjoi
I was recently in Toronto playing in the North American Chinese Basketball Tournament and our team did quite well. I am very proud of what we accomplished but we still have a lot of work to do when we compete in the future. I have an episode of the weekend about to be released but for the time being here is what they filmed as a trailer for the weekend. enjoi
Just picked up the new Jack Johnson Album "To The Sea" and it was totally worth it. In true Jack fashion he follows in the same mellow, laid back, feel good musical blue print from his previous albums. He does mix it up on a few tracks with electric guitar and he's song writing, with a little help from Zach Gill from Animal Liberation Orchestra. A great summer album and a must pick up for all singer songwriter fans. enjoi
This challenge is extended to all the blog followers to lip spit some hot fire or lip sing some hot fire; post it on your blog and let the battles begin!

The catastrophic explosion that caused an oil spill from a BP offshore drilling rig in the Gulf of Mexico has reached the shoreline early Friday morning. The leak is currently releasing 5,000 barrels of oil per day, and efforts to manage the spill with controlled burning, dispersal and plugging the leak were unsuccessful Thursday. Hair Salons across Winnipeg were donating their hair collections to help with the oil spill because apparently human hair is the best to absorb oil. So, I went down to Bern & Black were my boy Scott Ramos works got up to "take it off" - Mariah Carry, and shaved my head. I hit two birds with one stone, got nice summer cut and I'm trying to do my part to help with the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico. Here are some pictures of the process:
So I spend a lot of time with a wide range of interesting people and I wanted to start a new segment on my blog. Quote of the Week is what i've decided to do to highlight some humorous and intellectual people in my life. enjoi
"I just rolled my ankle and I think I peed my pants" - K. Flett
This was after she fell long board skating session, long live the Night Riders!
Courier New is a truly a new sound that the music scene is in desperate need of.Alexa Dirks (Juno Award Winner) and Matt Schellenberg (WCMA Winner) put together something truly amazing. The current single “We’re On the Horizon” only scratches the surface of the musical talent brought to this EP. Courier New creates pop music from a verity of genres put together like a cultural mosaic. Check them out at

So on Friday there was a big game that went down, game 6 of the Lakers vs the Thunder and I happen to run into my good friend Gbo that evening. We starting talking about basketball like normal and if you know him at all he is NOT much of a Kobe fan, so I issued out the bet on game 6; I would take the Lake Show and he could have the Tropic Thunder. The loser has to wear something chosen by the winner in the next spring league game, the only guidelines was it "has to be basketball related" and lets just say its going to be quite the show on Tuesday night. I will hopefully get a picture of this wonderful event for all of you to see and enjoi.
So last week I officially finished and passed my student teaching block in my first year in the Education Faculty. (Congrats to two of my buddies that go in to Education, Mitch "The Cat" and JP.. can't wait to eat lunch together ha ha) I was placed at middle school for my first teaching experience and all the research is true it is harder to teach in a middle school, I think it's because of a little thing called puberty ha ha. Some kids mature faster then others, and some just act crazy for no reason but it was an over all good experience. Tomorrow we have a faculty end of year debriefing, not sure what we are doing but being in ED you learn early that you reflect a lot and talk about your feelings ha ha. I'm still not done being a student yet this year, I will be taking 3 spring session courses and looking for a job for the summer :(
A big part of Education goal is half way done though and thats a huge relief, only one more year to go. enjoi
The NBA playoffs are going as we speak and they are all amazing match ups. My picks/teams i want to win in the first round would fall like this: Lakers, Magic, Miami, Denver, Bucks, Chicago, Suns, and Spurs. I'm not a Labron James Fan but I had to post this video because who wouldn't want to put together a starting line up that consisted of your friends to play the King himself. Team GQ Sports presented the challenge to Labron and put together a team to play 5 on 1. Mr. James pulls a fast one and changes the rules a bit but still a fun game to watch. enjoi
John Mayer is my favorite artist of all time (you all know this). I recently made a huge comment to MOBB to skip the show in Winnipeg and hope into a green civic with Cflow and head down to the wonderful state of North Dakota to see Mr. Mayer in Fargo! This was a considered a warm up road trip for me and Cam, who plan to head to Cali next summer.
The trip started off great with a photo shoot in the middle of know where, sing-a-longs, spiting hot fire, and breaking are necks to some sick beats! We had a quick stop in grand forks to eat and then made are way to the final destination Fargo. We went on a little shopping trip and Cam found some goodies but I was struggling. So if you read my recent post, I snapped and dropped some cash for a new toy, my Plan-B complete. (which I've been ripping on every day since I got it). Once we finished shopping, we got a quick eat at Buffalo Wild Wings and headed Fargo Dome.
Sungknows crew was going to represent at this show in full force no matter whatever it took. We saw a lot of signs saying no camera or video cameras but with some advice and some good hiding skills we got my camera into the venue and got some good pictures and footage for SungKnows.
The opening act was Michael Franti & Spearhead, they put on a great show with high energy and really got the crowd involved. Then next was became the big man on campus..Mr. John Mayer!
He had a sweet intro (which u will see in the video), and opened with my favorite song from Battle Studies, Heartbreak Warfare, I just love the whammy bar in that song! The best part of the show is the fact that I finally got to hear my favorite song in the whole wide, Comfortable LIVE! It only took me three John Mayer shows but my dream came true and I got to sing-a-long like I do in my car. ha haha.
